Gavin Johnston

Gavin became the first AVP of the Bronx Community Center in the Fall of 2024, after spending two years as the Senior Director of Operations at the Commonpoint Tennis and Athletic Center, where he and his team did a wonderful job building a community with transformative programs for all ages and abilities. 

Gavin has nearly 15 years of experience in complex business operations and administration, with specific focus on fiscal management, strategic planning and event operations. He started his career with the New York Jets as a Football Operations Assistant, assisting with daily scheduling, team travel, recruiting activities and as a liaison to all team members. He then joined the United States Tennis Association (USTA) in March 2014 where he held multiple roles, including Senior Manager of Operations, working with partners for the planning and execution for the US OPEN, and managing two National Training centers. Gavin has two kids, a wife and a dog named Bean (he’s also a big Los Angeles Lakers fan).
